A Beggar

A beggar with a sign, he is sitting in the middle of a busy sidewalk in Silom. “I want to go home.” the 50 something old beggar said it every morning, “Life on the street becomes unbearable.”

Nearly everyday when I walk to office, I pass him. I think he notices that I look at him. I sketched him as he sat there with a sign wrote “I beg for money to buy ticket home.” I have seen this old man for like 5 years. I wondered where is his home exactly.

Maybe his home is in USA so he has to get big money to go there. If he got at least 200 baht per day. In 5 years, he would get 365,000 baht. He didn’t need to buy anything except foods. He wears this same dirty cloths. He’s already rich by now.

He’s not even a handicapped. I have to go to work, do work to earn money. How come he only sits there and gets money so easily? At this point I’m getting a little grumpy about all this begging.

Excusez moi, Monsieur, pourriez vous nous aider s’il vous plait?
