Shiba Inu

อยากเลี้ยงหมา! อยากมีหมาน้อยวิ่งดุ๊กดิ๊กในบ้านจังเลย คิดถึงหมาเอลฟ์ด้วย ฮือๆ ตอนแรกไปดูหมาบีเกิ้ลไว้ แต่วันนี้เกิดนึกถึงหมา ที่เห็นที่ญี่ปุ่น ตอนนั้นเดินอยู่ข้างถนน แล้วเห็นมันนอนอยู่ในกล่อง ซึ่งมีป้ายเขียนว่ามันกำลังหาบ้าน เราอยากเอามันกลับมากรุงเทพฯ มาก แต่ทำไม่ได้ ได้แต่ยืนดูความน่ารักของมัน และหวังว่ามันจะหาบ้านได้ พอนึกดูแล้ว เราก็ไม่รู้ว่ามันเป็นพันธุ์อะไร เลยไป search ใน google ดู ใส่คำว่า japanese dog ลงไป แล้วเราก็พบกัน มันคือพันธุ์ Shiba Inu คำว่า inu ในภาษาญี่ปุ่นแปลว่า สุนัข นั่นเอง

มันน่ารักมากเลยเนอะ ในเมืองไทยเราจะหาซื้อได้ที่ไหนหนอ แล้วอากาศร้อนแบบนี้ จะเลี้ยงมันได้ไหม 😐

I was thinking about when I was in Japan. I saw a Japanese dog on the street once, he was sleeping in a box with a sign wrote “This dog is finding a warm home”. I wished I could take him back home in Bangkok but I couldn’t.

I remember his eyes and how cute he was. Today I google the word “Japanese Dog” and I found exactly what I want.  He was “Shiba Inu”.

I wonder where is that cute dog now, is he in the safe and warm home …

Mother Warriors

เราชอบดูรายการ The Oprah Winfrey Show ทางช่อง Hallmark เพราะดูแล้วได้แง่คิดในหลายๆ อย่าง เพราะ Oprah จะเชิญผู้ร่วมรายการแต่ละคนมาสัมภาษณ์ในแบบที่ เราอาจจะไม่เคยคิดว่า มีคนแบบนี้ และเจอแบบนี้ในโลกนี้ด้วยเหรอ และวิธีการที่เค้าดำเนินชีวิตมันแบบ น่ายกย่องมาก เป็นแบบอย่างกับคนอื่นๆ แถมยังให้กำลังใจคนที่มีัปัญหาเหมือนกัน ว่าอย่างน้อยเหตุการณ์เลวร้าย ย่อมมีทางที่ดีขึ้น เป็นรายการแง่บวก

มะกี้นี้เอง เป็นเรื่องของ Mother Warriors ซึ่งเป็นชื่อหนังสือที่ Jenny McCarthy แต่งขึ้น เป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับคุณแม่ยอดนักสู้ เท่าที่เราดู (เราไม่ได้ดูตอนแรกนิดหน่อย) จะเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับคุณแม่คนหนึ่ง ชื่อคุณ Monica ซึ่งเกิดอาการ flesh-eating bacteria หลังคลอด ซึ่งพอคลอดเธอจะมีไข้ เธอก็คิดว่าไม่เป็นไรมาก จากนั้นท้องของเธอก็ปวดขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนในที่สุดต้องย้ายไปโรงพยาบาลอีกแห่ง ซึ่งการที่จะเอาชีวิตรอดได้ ต้องเอากระเพาะปัสสาวะ, รังไข่, ถุงน้ำดี และลำไส้ใหญ่ของเธอออก และยังไม่พอ…

สี่อาทิตย์ต่อมาการติดเชื้อของ Monica ทำให้เลือดไม่ถ่ายเทไปที่แขน และขา พยาบาลจะต้องทำความสะอาดแขน และขาเธอ จนในที่สุดเธอเธอก็บอกว่า เธอต้องการรู้ว่าเธอกำลังต่อสู้กับอะไร เธอไม่ต้องการการปกป้องอีกต่อไป ไม่รู้แปลถูกป่าว คำพูดเธอคือ “I needed to know what I was up against. I didn’t want to be shielded anymore” คือเหมือนคล้ายๆ ทุกคน ก็พยายามจะป้องกันเธอไปเรื่อยๆ แต่มันก็ยังไม่ใช่วิธีที่จะชนะสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้น

การที่จะชนะการติดเชื้อนี้ คือการตัดแขน และขาเธอออก Monica บอกว่า ทำมันเถอะ ชั้นต้องการกลับบ้าน “Do it. I’ve got to go home” เธอบอกว่า ตอนนั้นเธอคิดว่า ชั้นมีชีวิตที่ต้องการดำเนินต่อ และมันก็ไม่ใช่การอยู่ที่นี่ (โรงพยาบาล) ชั้นจะได้ก้าวต่อไปไม่ได้ จนกระทั่งคุณตัดมันออก “I have a life to live and it’s not here, and until you amputate, I can’t move forward” เธอผ่าตัดถึง 37 ครั้ง

หมอ และพยาบาล คิดว่าพวกเขาจะพบกับการคร่ำครวญว่า “ทำไมต้องเป็นฉัน ทำไมต้องเป็นเรา” ในเวลาเกิดเหตุการณ์เลวร้าย แต่ Monica ไม่เลย เธอยอมรับโชคชะตา และสู้ต่อ เธอพูดว่า “ชั้นคิดว่าถ้าพระเจ้าจะทิ้งแขนข้างหนึ่งให้ชั้นไว้ก็ยังดี จะได้หยิบอะไรได้ แต่มันไม่เป็นเช่นนั้น ชั้นก็คิดว่าโอเคล่ะ ท่านคงมีเหตุผลของท่าน ชั้นดีใจที่มีชีวิตอยู่กับสามีที่น่ารัก และลูกทั้งสอง”

สามีเธอก็ยืนหยัดต่อสู้เพื่อเธอเสมอ ไม่คิดแม้แต่จะทิ้งเธอไปไหน จน Oprah และผู้ชมต้องถามว่า เค้ามีน้องชายบ้างไหม ญาติห่างๆ ก็ได้ Oprah ต้องชมกันเลยว่า เขาเป็น Real Man จริงๆ

ทำให้คิดได้ว่าการที่จะเป็นผู้ชายจริงๆ เนี่ย ไม่ใช่ว่าคุณเป็นผู้ชาย แล้วคุณคือลูกผู้ชาย แต่มันเป็นความอดทนมากกว่านั้น อดทนที่จะดูแล ปกป้องผู้หญิงที่คุณรัก รักษาสัญญา และทำมันให้ได้

คุณ Jenny McCarthy ยังบอกอีกว่า แม่ของทุกคนที่บ้านก็เป็นนักสู้ งานบ้านมันเป็นงานหนัก ทุกคนควรได้เงินจากการทำงานบ้านด้วยซ้ำไป

เมื่อวานพ่อขนของ แล้วก็ปัดไปโดนกล่องเพลงอันนี้ตก พ่อเลยเอามันมานั่งต่อเข้าไปใหม่ เรามานั่งดู ก็นึกถึงตอนให้กล่องเพลงนี้กับแม่ในวันเกิด ตอนนั้นเรายังอยู่มัธยมอยู่เลย เอาเงินเก็บไปซื้อมันมา จำได้ว่าแพงมาก เพราะเป็นของนำเข้า แต่ก็คุ้มเพราะแม่ชอบ

นี่ก็สิ้้นเดือนแล้ว ถ้าจะสมัครเรียนปริญญาโท ก็น่าจะไปยื่นใบสมัครได้แล้ว แต่เราก็ไม่ได้ไป ส่วนคะแนนสอบ CU-TEP ก็ผ่านเกณฑ์ เพราะเค้าไม่ให้ต่ำกว่า 400 แต่เราได้ 535 ถึงคะแนนจะไม่ดีมาก แต่ก็ผ่านเกณฑ์ (ตอนแรกนึกว่าเค้าไม่ให้ต่ำกว่า 550)

เรามานั่งคิดดู เราก็เลยบอกแม่ว่า เราจะไม่เรียนปริญญาโทแล้ว เราว่าเราไม่พร้อม เพราะถ้าจะเรียนก็ต้องมีเงินเป็นแสน ถึงเราจะสามารถเก็บเงินแบบทำงานไปด้วย เก็บเงินไปด้วย มันก็ทำได้ แต่เราคิดว่า ไม่เอาดีกว่า

เราจะเอาเงินที่สามารถจะไปเรียนปริญญาโท มาเลี้ยงพ่อแม่ดีกว่า ปีนี้แม่ก็อายุ 60 แล้ว ถ้าทำงานก็ถือว่าเกษียณแล้ว แม่ควรจะได้พักผ่อน แล้วก็สบายๆ เราเลยหยุดแล้วการคิดถึงแต่ตัวเอง ว่าเราอยากทำอะไร เป็นอะไร ได้อะไร

นึกถึงตอนเด็กๆ ที่เราอยากได้อะไร พ่อแม่ก็หามาให้ได้เสมอ ตอนนี้มันก็ควรจะเป็นเรา ที่ให้พ่อแม่บ้าง แบบจริงๆ จังๆ

วันก่อนอ่านข่าวว่าทาง PETA มาประท้วงอยู่ที่หน้าร้าน KFC ก็เลยนึกสงสัยว่าทำไมเค้าถึงมาประท้วงกัน ก็เลยไป search ใน google แล้วก็ถึงกับอึ้ง ดูจากวีดีโอนี้ คงจะเห็นได้ว่าทำไม เค้าถึงประณาม KFC กับการกระทำอันโหดร้ายต่อไก่

ไม่รู้ว่าใจคนงานพวกนี้ทำด้วยอะไร …ดูแล้วยังอยากกินไก่กันอยู่หรือเปล่าเอ่ย?

Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana

When I knew that Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, the beloved sister of His Majesty the King, has died after a length illness at Siriraj Hospital, I felt so sad. The Royal Houselhold Bureau has announced that the princess passed away at 02:54 Wednesday morning January 2, 2007. I don’t know how to express my feeling. I wanted to write about Her Royal Highness but I’m afraid my English is not strong enough. My tears fell down when I watched her biography on television.

I was a student of L’Alliance française de Bangkok. I studied French as my major when I was in high school. I remember that there’s a award for student who studies French exellent. I can’t remember the name of the award though. This award will be given by Her Royal Highness.

The Princess took up a guest lecturer post with various local universities, focusing on foreign languages and linguistics, especially French. She also sought new methods and theories to improve the teaching of language, and frequently gave advice to teachers of language and literature.

The Princess founded the Association of Teachers of French in Thailand, aimed at improving teaching methods and promoting research into language, art, and culture at all levels and in all disciplines. The Princess served as President of the Association from 1977 to 1981, and was the Honourary President.

Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana will always be in my memory.

Bright Sky

I looked up to the sky while I was driving home on the outer ring road. I took this picture. Clouds can inspire creativity. N’Goy loves to look up to the sky so I tried to do it. I wanted to know why you are in love with the sky. I guess because you will never see the same sky every time you do.

A cloud is continually changing and should be thought of as a continuous process more than a stable object. Just like life itself. Nothing ever stays the same. What makes the world go round. Times change, attitudes change and people change. We are not all meant to look or think the same. People get old and older. My mom is 58 years old. She can’t see out of her right eye. She has to get the laser eye surgery. The cost of eye surgery package is Baht 38,000. I am unemployed. I am broke. How can I get big money?

I should rob the bank and get away with it. I have nothing to lose. I would choose a small, one located in a small town with little to no law enforcement. The security system will be nothing compared to the higher pay-off banks and you won’t have to worry about guards or paint explosives.

I went crazy here. Actually I recently loaned money like normal people do. I pray for my mom to get well.

Sunset

When the sun goes down, the stars come out to play. I took this picture from the 8th floor MRT (Ladprao station) parking building.

The sky looks so empty but take a look at the street … busy traffic as usual. A peak hour. Crowded public transport.

Driving in Bangkok can be huge time-waster and a big headache. There are a lot of aggressive drivers in Bangkok (including me). I will use public transportation if it is ubiquitous, comfortable, reliable, cheap as gas and safe. Unfortunately, I find it grossly inadequate.

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the car lately. The traffic seems to get worse. What I should do when I stuck in the car? If I could, I would do painting. But all I can do is sing -“-

Kumquat Trees

This is the kumquat tree in my house. The English name “kumquat” derives from the Cantonese. In Thai, it is somchíd (ส้มจี๊ด). Kumquats are known as a tonic and have diuretic and laxative properties.

The differences between orange and kumquat – Orange trees are evergreen trees. They grow 8 to 15 m. high. The kumquat plant is a shrub that grows up to 4m. high. Oranges are eaten by hand and squeezed a lot. Kumquats are eaten raw with the edible skin. The kumquat is like a citrus fruit. It is the most well known of the sort fortunella which is closely related to Citrus.

Why am i writing about an orange and a kumquat? Because I have 4 trainees in my work company during this summer. I think they’re like kumquats. They’re fresh, bright and small. Small in this case means when you’re young and lack of experience, you may feel you’re small. They are raw but you can eat them. They’re valued in their own ways. Why you need to squeeze them and make them be an orange so soon?

Teaching is not easy, especially if you want to create one hell good designer. You gotta rip his ‘art soul’ out of his darkness. You have to teach strong basic to let them grow well. The best way to learn is to work hard at it; the best way to teach is not to let the students notice they’re working hard. Each teacher has her/his personal teaching style, you have to respect not discredit.

I use Window Live Messenger and I can’t live without it. I’m kidding. It’s just that without Window Live Messenger, I would have massive phone bills. It’s free and it’s one of the best tool for communication so far. When I first using chat programs, I use Ichat and ICQ and before that I use Telnet (OMG!). Window Live Messenger is my online social life. It makes me feel I am in touch with everybody, even if we are not talking but just being online.

Sometimes my colleagues and I chat in conference room. It’s fun and it looks like we are working! Couple days ago, I was surprised that May, my JALways colleague added me. I haven’t talked to her for ages. May told me to add Lin. She had a job interview in Silom. She said Kik also works around Silom. We are so closed but we never knew before.

In my list, I have only people I know so I normally don’t accept stranger into my list. Stop trying. Got it?
